Discover the artisan markets in Menorca

Strolling along in the fresh air, buying unusual gifts and drinking in the Menorcan summer ambiance are a true pleasure when visiting the markets held in each of the island’s towns. Try the ports in Ciutadella or Fornells, the narrow streets in Es Migjorn Gran or the centre of Mahón, filled with lights and stalls where artisans and other vendors draw in colour, fun… and often live music.

A great activity in Menorca

Mornings, afternoons or evenings spent in the markets are hugely appealing to all age ranges. Who hasn’t found that special gift in one of those places? Discovering the local crafts and typical products as you wander through the streets in the towns or by the water is a relaxing pastime and a great plan, something different and entertaining that we at Bini Hotels highly recommend.

You’ll find a bit of everything. There’s a really varied range of products for sale, from avarcas, Menorca’s typical sandals, to hand-crafted jewellery and the delicious cheese or sobrassada sausage made on the island. Lose yourself in a sea of colour as you select your products from the individual stalls.

Markets with charm

They say that the best way to get to know the culture of a place is to visit the markets. In Menorca you can enjoy a delightful night stroll in Ciutadella: visit the market in the Plaça de la Catedral square and then wander down to the pretty harbour to check out the open-air stalls and also sample the island’s delicious gastronomy.

If you’re in the central part of Menorca, don’t miss out on the artisan market held every Tuesday in Es Migjorn Gran. There’s always live music to make it more fun. If you feel like taking a break and drinking something refreshing, try the bar at Hotel S'Estil·let, a charming little hotel.

Relax by the sea

What can we say about the Fornells market! Here, with the gentle sound of the sea in the background, the promenade is simply the perfect place to take it easy. Artisan market, open-air terraces... and if you want to finish on a high note, wander down to the end of the bay to see how the Torre de Fornells tower lights up the sky. Even more special when there’s a full moon!

If you’re in Menorca, love shopping in the open air, taking in the great atmosphere of the markets and scouring the stalls for irrisistible items, don’t miss out on Menorca’s ones. Which one do you fancy visiting?
